Exhaust

Replacing your stock exhaust system with an aftermarket performance type system is a must if you want the maximum performance out of your truck. Complete cat-back and after-cat-back can be bought pre-made from most of the performance mail order magazines. Cat-back systems replace the exhaust systems from the cat back. You replace the cat, muffler and all the exhaust pipe with this system. After-cat-back systems replace just the muffler and the exhaust pipe exiting the cat back. After-cat-back systems are the most common and are the easies to do. These systems can also be made and installed by your local exhaust shops. After-cat systems are the most common of the two because of the price. These systems come very close to the power gains of the cat-backs but cost over $100 less. Common replacements of stock mufflers are flowmaster, gibson, and dynomax. I recommend and prefer flowmaster over the others but you might have your preference. For the best power gain run a single-in single-out muffler. Running dual exhaust may look better but running a single exhaust pipe will produce the most power gains.
