Transmission Cooler Install

Installing a transmission cooler on the front of your truck could save you thousands in the future. Modifications to the motor and transmission causes your tranny to work harder and generate more heat. This heat could and will kill your transmission. In 12K miles I had killed mine twice. One thing that I did not have on my truck was an external transmission fluid cooler. Measurements have shown that transmissions with coolers run 30 to 50 degrees cooler then trucks with the regular radiator cooler. To help save my tranny from another trip to the transmission shop I installed a B&M SuperCooler on the front of my truck. The kit came with everything needed to install and I did not even have to cut the factory tranny lines. The kit comes with a male and female adapter that screws onto both the line and the radiator. From these you run your hoses to the B&M cooler. The cooler cam either be bolted to the cross frame with the supplied brackets or zip tied to the condenser. I used zip ties because of the simple install and how clean it looks. I have not got the current temp after the cooler but will include it in the article when I do. The cooler I bought was part number #70264.
